Cannes Film Festival 2022 Lineup Announced

Stars will once again walk the Croisette as the prestigious Cannes Film Festival returns this May.

Elvis review

It will be another year of glitz and glamour both in and out of competition as Cannes festival president Pierre Lescure and general delegate/artistic director Thierry Frémaux listed the festival’s upcoming films.

Titles already announced for the festival were Top Gun 2: Maverick and Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, with Toms Cruise and Hanks expected to walk the red carpet. The official competition lineup includes new films from auteurs such as David Cronenberg, Claire Denis, Kore-Eda Hirokazu and Kelly Reichardt.

Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller will also premiere his new film Three Thousand Years of Longing and Olivier Assayas will bring his new series Irma Vep to the Croisette. David Lynch does not appear to have a film at Cannes although speculation ran high this week, but Ethan Coen’s solo directorial effort made the list.
