Drake leads the way at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards with 14 nominations, followed by Kanye West on ten.
Both Ye and
Drake are in the running for the coveted Artist Of The Year as the BET Hip Hop Awards returns for its 17
th edition on 4 October – following the release of their albums
Certified Lover Boy and
Donda last year.
Kendrick Lamar follows closely behind Ye, with nine nominations, off the back of the release of
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers earlier this year. Along with the aforementioned albums, Future’s
I Never Liked You, Pusha T’s
It’s Almost Dry and Nas’
King’s Disease II are also up for the prestigious Hip Hop Album Of The Year.
Meanwhile, Future has eight nods, whilst Cardi B, Keem and J. Cole each have six.
Fat Joe is set to present the awards, which certainly has plenty of characters, egos and desire to win the top prizes. Here’s the list in full:
