Birmingham band Big Special are back, dropping another electrifying single, ‘Butcher’s Bin’, from their eagerly awaited album, Postindustrial Hometown Blues. Alongside, they’re hitting the road, not just anywhere, but with Placebo in South America this March, and they’ve also pinned down the date for their largest London show yet this November at The Forum.

‘Butcher’s Bin’, following the anthem ‘Dust Off / Start Again’, marries buzzing synths with the band’s signature sound, a track that’s resonated with BBC 6 Music listeners. Stream it here or scroll down for the video. Their debut album, set to land on May 10th via SO Recordings, promises to take listeners on a profound sonic journey.

Joe Hicklin, the voice behind the band, delves deep into ‘Butcher’s Bin’: “It’s a mirror to class awareness, a shout about the commodification of the working class, their trivialised existence. It’s from the lens of an artist grappling with declining mental health amidst a bid to breakthrough.”

He further paints the album as a canvas of his truths: “Postindustrial Hometown Blues navigates depression’s maze – personal, social, generational. It’s an unfiltered expression of a working-class life through the fog of mental health and political disillusionment.”
