Broncho have released two new tracks, ‘Think I Pass’ and ‘Get Gone’, ahead of Natural Pleasure, their first studio album in six years, arriving next Friday 25th April.
Both songs offer a glimpse into the Oklahoma band’s off-kilter charm. ‘Get Gone’ lands as a swaggering, late-night track built for strange dancefloors and bleary-eyed kitchen comedowns, while ‘Think I Pass’ leans into something softer and more quietly addictive.
“It’s probably a celebration of learning to say no,” says frontman Ryan Lindsey. “Because saying no is hard for me. My default is set to yes.”
It’s a typically unguarded moment from a band that’s always operated slightly outside the expected. Since breaking out with 2014’s ‘Class Historian’, Broncho’s music has popped up in shows like Girls and Reservation Dogs, and earned co-signs from Josh Homme and Jack White along the way.
Their last album, Bad Behavior, came out in 2018. The new one, Natural Pleasure, shapes up as a heady mix of lo-fi texture and psychedelic gloss, anchored as ever by Lindsey’s distinctive vocal delivery: crooked, emotive and, at times, oddly comforting.
Broncho will head out on a North American tour this summer, beginning with a hometown show in Tulsa this June. The setlist will span the new album alongside favourites from across their discography.
Natural Pleasure is available to pre-order now.
