London-based singer-songwriter Emma Bradley is making a stunning return with ‘Serotonin Skies’.

Her newest single dives into the emotional whirlwind that comes with love: the way it can light up your life and just as easily dim it when it fades.

The song’s title says it all. “The ‘serotonin sky’ is a metaphor for the inside of your head,” Emma explains, “and how sometimes there are more ‘stars in the sky’, happy feelings, than other times.”

It’s an apt description of the delicate emotional balance she explores in the track, which is at once melancholy and hopeful.

‘Serotonin Skies’ also reflects Emma’s personal journey through her queerness and the heartbreak of a relationship that helped her realise her identity, only to end too soon. “It’s like seeing through the door and then somebody closing it again,” she reflects, capturing that gut-wrenching feeling of knowing who you are, only to lose that connection.

Musically, ‘Serotonin Skies’ marks a major evolution for Emma. As she steps into her creative independence, after parting ways with her label and management, she’s embraced a new sound. Drawing inspiration from the likes of James Blake, Imogen Heap, and Bon Iver, the track features a lush, atmospheric arrangement that feels as introspective as it is haunting.

“Finding myself solitary in the production and writing… it was such a rewarding process. I am so glad I did it, I loved it,” Emma says of her newfound autonomy. She took full control of the song’s production, crafting each layer herself.

“It was such a rewarding process,” she adds, reflecting on the creative freedom she found through this journey. The track signals a fresh, empowering chapter in her career, and the confidence that comes from fully embracing her own voice.
