Lorcan Finnegan, who thoroughly disturbed us with his suburban nightmare Vivarium in 2019, returns to horror with his new film Nocebo.
You can check out the first trailer for the horror thriller below.
Starring Eva Green and Mark Strong, Nocebo follows Green’s fashion designer, plagued by a bizarre, unexplained illness. Diana, a Filipino carer, promises she can help, but perhaps some things are better left uncovered.
Strong plays the frustrated husband, who is increasingly wary of Diana’s folk healing methods.
Finnegan is an expert at turning something relatively peaceful and domestic into a breeding ground for unspeakable terror, so horror fans should be delighted by the trailer.
Strong and Green will be put through the wringer as their domestic bliss becomes a living nightmare.
The film is a co-production between Ireland and the Philippines. Nocebo was also supported by Screen Ireland and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. Directed by Finnegan, Nocebo is written by Garret Shanley, a frequent collaborator for Finnegan.
Nocebo will be released in cinemas on December 9 by Vertigo Releasing.
