Electronic producer Fred again.. has released his ‘USB002 REMIXES’ collection in full, expanding the latest chapter of his ongoing USB project.
The new release arrives shortly after the artist hosted four sold-out shows at London’s Alexandra Palace. Those performances brought a rotating cast of collaborators onto the stage, culminating in a standout moment when La Roux appeared alongside dubstep pioneer Skream to perform ‘In For The Kill’, recreating the legendary remix that helped define a generation of UK club music.
‘USB002 REMIXES’ continues the collaborative spirit that has shaped Fred again..’s recent output. The eight-track collection sees the producer open his catalogue to a wide group of artists, each bringing their own perspective to the material.
Among the contributors are Australian club producer HAAi, UK electronic artist Lil Silva, and dubstep duo Skream & Benga, figures whose work helped shape the sound of the UK underground. The project also stretches beyond Britain, including contributions from Brazilian rapper MC Dricka, highlighting the global scope of Fred again..’s network of collaborators.
The remixes move fluidly between styles, reflecting the eclectic direction of the USB series. First introduced as an outlet for more spontaneous releases and collaborations, the project has gradually evolved into a loose framework through which Fred again.. experiments with club culture, community and shared creativity.
That ethos was evident throughout the Alexandra Palace residency, where the producer frequently invited guests onstage and blurred the line between DJ set, live performance and collaborative jam session.
