12 albums have been nominated in total, including Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, the fastest-selling album of the year, Wet Leg’s eponymous debut and Little Simz’ Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. Harry Styles The full list of nominations is as follows: Fergus McCreadie – Forest Floor Gwenno – Tresor Harry Styles – Harry’s House Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler – For All Our Days That Tear The Heart Joy Crookes – Skin Kojey Radical – Reason To Smile Little Simz – Sometimes I Might Be Introvert Nova Twins – Supernova Sam Fender – Seventeen Going Under Self Esteem – Prioritise Pleasure Wet Leg – Wet Leg Yard Act – The Overload The event to declare the winner will take place at Hammersmith Apollo on 8 September, with all nominees set to win a “specially commissioned ‘Album Of The Year’ trophy,” according to the Mercury Prize’s official website. The winner will take home a cash prize of £25,000. This year’s 12-person judging panel includes Jamie Cullum, Loyle Carner and Anna Calvi, whilst the new headline sponsor is the FREE NOW mobility app. Arlo Parks won the prestigious award last year, with her album Collapsed in Sunbeams.
