12 albums have been nominated in total, including Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, the fastest-selling album of the year, Wet Leg’s eponymous debut and Little Simz’ Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

The event to declare the winner will take place at Hammersmith Apollo on 8 September, with all nominees set to win a “specially commissioned ‘Album Of The Year’ trophy,” according to the Mercury Prize’s official website. The winner will take home a cash prize of £25,000.
This year’s 12-person judging panel includes Jamie Cullum, Loyle Carner and Anna Calvi, whilst the new headline sponsor is the FREE NOW mobility app.
Arlo Parks won the prestigious award last year, with her album Collapsed in Sunbeams.
