British electronic duo JOY (Anonymous) have dropped their highly anticipated 5-track EP Joyous People (South East Corner). This release features collaborations with some of the biggest names in UK dance music, including UK Garage disruptor Sammy Virji, legendary producer Todd Edwards, and DJ/producer Surya Sen.
The EP is a showcase of JOY (Anonymous)’s vibrant blend of UK garage, footwork, and house, with snippets from their live performances adding an immersive feel to the tracks.
Leading the EP is their new single ‘JOY (By My Side)’, a collaboration with Sammy Virji that has already been making waves. Awarded the title of Jack Saunders’ ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, the track brings a summery vibe, combining soulful vocals with Sammy’s signature upbeat production style. It’s a feel-good anthem built for both the dancefloor and sunny afternoons.

The EP opens with ‘JOY (Sun on My Skin)’, which features Todd Edwards and the off-the-cuff spoken word stylings of comedian Reggie Watts. Another standout track, ‘JOY (No Slip In My Faith)’, sees the duo teaming up with rising star Messie, whose live debut at Glastonbury made waves earlier this year.
This EP captures the energy and community spirit of JOY (Anonymous)’s unforgettable summer, which included curating their own stage at Glastonbury’s Shangri-La area, where they played alongside friends and fellow DJs.
Known for their genre-bending sound and euphoric live performances, JOY (Anonymous) have built a solid reputation in the UK dance scene. Their recent collaborations with the likes of Four Tet, Fred Again.., and The Blessed Madonna only solidify their place as one of the most exciting groups in UK dance music.
With Joyous People (South East Corner), JOY (Anonymous) wrap up the summer season on a high note, offering a collection of tracks that are as diverse as they are danceable. This EP is proof that JOY (Anonymous) is a force to be reckoned with in electronic music.
