Keo continue to take flight with soaring new single ‘Crow’

Emerging London four-piece Keo have shared their latest single ‘Crow’, an emotionally-charged track that follows their recent support of Kings of Leon at BST Hyde Park.

Led by English-Irish brothers Finn and Conor Keogh – and flanked by drummer Oli Spackman and guitarist Jimmy Lanwern – this new outfit are ones to keep tabs on.

With only a handful of songs and sonic snippets released to date (although nothing yet out on Spotify and other DSPs), their fine grunge-laden blend of melody and angst can be heard firmly already.

And none more so than on their latest track ‘Crow’, which you can have a listen to via the visualiser below.

Recorded live to tape at 123 Studios in March this year, with Brett Shaw (whose credits include Foals, Florence + The Machine) on production duties, the new track typifies Keo’s raw approach and demonstrates why the band were recently on supporting duties for Kings Of Leon.

Speaking about the release of ‘Crow’, frontman Finn Keogh has explained the song’s emotive basis, saying: “‘Crow’s lyrics share a perspective on time and recall the anxiety I felt when a loved one was suffering with cancer, whom is now thankfully clear of it.

“I’ve always been a spiritual person looking for meaning in everything. Sometimes, perhaps to the point of it being unproductive, in that I often see things as a sign of what’s to come.

“‘Crow’ is a recollection of the fear and pain I had at the time when they were ill, and now of being grateful for them being in the clear but still anxious that the illness may return.”

As well as their BST slot, the band have also been cutting their teeth on the live circuit with other shows alongside Courting, bdrmm, Ugly, Enola Gay, Chappaqua Wrestling and more.

Next up for the band is a headline slot at Brixton’s legendary Windmill on 28 August – a venue where many successful bands have plied their trade before, in a similar state of relative infancy.

After that, they have slots at Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival and Left of the Dial Festival in Rotterdam in October – visit the band’s site for more information and to buy tickets.
