Lola Young announces UK and European headline tour

Lola Young has announced a UK and European tour, which follows the recent release of her new single ‘Wish You Were Dead’.

Commencing with a hometown show at the much-loved Scala venue, the South London singer-songwriter will also be playing gigs in Manchester and Bristol before an impressive 18-date run of shows in the States.

She’ll subsequently embark on the European leg of the tour in mid-to-late April for stopovers that include Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

News of her latest tour follows her recent single ‘Wish You Were Dead’, a terrific new track which builds on the relatable songwriting of her debut album My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely, with added verve, as she unloads the angst and frustrations of a toxic relationship.

The new track in turn arrives following Lola’s recent ‘Conceited’ single, which has become a fan favourite during her recent live shows.

When we caught the BRIT-nominated singer’s final night of her residency at Signature Brew Haggerston in November – where she treated the crowd to both her latest singles – we wrote:

“Watching Lola perform, it’s hard to imagine she’s ever been anything but confident, as she circles her hands in the air, inciting the crowd into a singalong with her deep, well-ranged voice (she has plenty of reason to be confident about that).

“[And] when it does come to spinning her tales, she has plenty of sonic strings to her bow, able to take us from the jazzy head-bop of ‘Conceited’ to the tender, nostalgic-sounding balladry of ‘What Is It About Me’.”
