Titled A Quiet Place: Day One, the film is scheduled to be released March 8, 2024. According to Deadline, Nyong’o is in the final stages of talks to star in the film.
Paramount is hoping that the spin-off would establish a profitable A Quiet Place universe, with more spin-offs and sequels in its future.
While we don’t know any specifics of the story, we can safely assume it will take place in the early days of the alien invasion which leads to the events of A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II.

A Quiet Place memorably followed the Abbott family living a completely quiet existence after aliens landed on Earth. The creatures used sound to hunt, as seen in the opening of the film where the Abbotts’ young son was devoured after a toy rocket made a sound.
Either film never really revealed how the invasion or arrival of the creatures happened, but perhaps that’s exactly where the spin-off comes in.
Actor John Krasinski directed both A Quiet Place films and they were both well received by critics and fans alike.
A second sequel to A Quiet Place is currently in development but Day One would be a separate spin-off. Michael Sarnoski, who directed Pig, is set to helm the film based on an idea by Krasinski.
Nyong’o is about to star in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Nakia, the late T’Challa’s love interest and a fierce Wakandan warrior. It’s one of the year’s most anticipated films and one of our picks for November’s blockbuster films.
