Director James Gray’s somewhat biographical drama has awed and wowed audiences at film festivals before finally arriving on our screens this month. Gray’s film explored the life of a Jewish family, racial tensions, and the usual American dream in this quality drama.
Bones and All / November 25
Cannibals, but make it romantic. Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All is both a horror film and a grand romance, all set against the Reaganism of the 80s. Taylor Russell is simply luminescent as Maren, a young cannibal who meets and falls in love with Lee (Timothee Chalamet).
She Said / November 25
Arriving just as Harvey Weinstein is on trial in Los Angeles, She Said chronicles the accurate tale of two New York Times reporters who uncovered Weinstein’s abuse in Hollywood. Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor in this extraordinary film about one of the biggest scandals of our time.
Road Dahl’s Matilda The Musical / November 25
Revolting children, rejoice! The hit West End musical is coming to a screen near you. Directed by Matthew Warchus, Matilda had its World Premiere as the Opening Night Gala at the BFI London Film Festival and is a very accomplished adaptation indeed.
