The series will follow the British journalists who investigated Glitter and eventually brought him to justice. The series will cover Glitter’s entire life as well as his convictions of child sex abuse and other sexual offences. Hunting Gary Glitter, which is the working title for the series, will also feature never-before-seen photographs and archive footage and will also include interviews with Glitter’s past victims. Glitter rose to fame in the 1970s and 80s with hits like “Do You Wanna Touch Me” and “I Love You Love Me Love”. He was arrested in 1997 and convicted in 1999 for downloading child pornography. Glitter was also charged but ultimately acquitted of having sex with an underage girl in the 1970s. He moved to South East Asia and bounced from country to country and after being deported from Vietnam where he was found guilty of obscene acts with minors in 2006, he was brought back to the UK and charged in 2014 with historical child abuse. Glitter was released in February 2023. The documentary series will be directed by Sam Hobkinson and produced by Cammy Millard. Netflix reports it has been in production for a few months, but there is no release date as of yet.
