Orlando Weeks, renowned for his work with The Maccabees and as a solo artist, is set to release his latest album ‘LOJA’ digitally on June 6th (pre-save here), with physical versions following on August 23rd. The album launch will be accompanied by an art exhibition and live performances at The Copeland Gallery in London.

The new album, to be released under Fiction Records, explores themes of optimism and reflection, inspired by Weeks’ relocation from London to Lisbon. “The great change in our lives was that we left London and moved to Lisbon, and the record definitely has elements of being a love letter to the place that we now call home,” Weeks commented on the influence of his new surroundings.

‘LOJA’ features the lead single ‘Dig,’ a collaboration with Rhian Teasdale of Wet Leg, described by Weeks as capturing an “under your breath half-argument.” The accompanying music video is directed by Matt Harris-Freeth.

The album’s creation involved Weeks’ live band and was completed over thirteen days at Chale Abbey Studios on the Isle of Wight, with final touches added in Lisbon. Weeks described the album as benefiting from a “stirring of the waters” due to his move, providing a new perspective on his past life in London.

The Copeland Gallery will host an exhibition of Weeks’ art created in his Lisbon studio from June 6th-9th, turning into a venue for live performances in the evenings. The event has added extra sessions due to high demand.
