Jethro Lazenby, the son of Nick Cave, has passed away at the age of 31, the musician has confirmed.
In a brief statement, Nick Cave wrote: “With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.”
Jethro was born in 1991 to the musician and his mother, Beau Lazenby. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia and has previously revealed how he didn’t meet his father until he was around seven or eight.
Tragically, Jethro’s death is the second time Nick Cave has lost a son, after Arthur Cave fell to his death from a cliff in Brighton in 2015, at the age of just 15 years old.

Following his move to the UK, Jethro became a model after being spotted in the street; he went on to model for such brands as Balenciaga and Versace. He also had brief stints in acting roles, appearing in the 2007 film Corroboree and 2011’s My Little Princess.
He was found guilty in April of assaulting his mother at her home in Melbourne. He was jailed and released last weekend with his lawyer announcing he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. His cause of death has not yet been revealed.
