London-based quartet Oreglo are back with their latest single, a reimagined version of McCoy Tyner’s jazz classic ‘Passion Dance.’
Following their debut EP Not Real People last year, this new track continues to highlight their distinctive, genre-blending style.
‘Passion Dance’ stands out as an innovative twist on the original, with the band offering their take on a jazz standard.
“Instead of arranging a contemporary tune into a jazz configuration, we’ve taken a jazz tune and flipped it on its head. It’s theatre, grime, jazz and rock meeting at a centrepoint, to paint a picture of who we are as oreglo!” the band explain.

The track also features the band’s first-ever vocals, with a spoken intro from Nicco Rocco (drums) and a rap from c-sé (keys).
The release marks Oreglo’s first of 2025, ahead of their debut US shows at SXSW in Austin and a set at The Great Escape in Brighton later this year.
With praise from The Guardian, NME, and Mixmag, Orgelo have been gaining recognition for their forward-thinking approach to music. Their debut EP Not Real People explored themes of identity and youth in London, a thread that runs through their music.
As they continue to push boundaries, Oreglo are set to perform at key events like SXSW and The Great Escape.
Listen to ‘Passion Dance’ now and stay tuned for more from Oreglo in 2025.
