Veronica Falls will reissue their self-titled debut album on November 27th, 15 years after its original release.

The band were part of an emergent indie pop scene centred on East London, with deep links to Glasgow, merging C86 and Sarah Records influences with 1960s Baroque pop and occasional shoegaze textures across two acclaimed albums.

The reissue adds a bonus disc of nine recordings from the same period. Side C is devoted to cover versions, including takes on the Rolling Stones’ ‘Under My Thumb’, Slumber Party’s ‘Sooner or Later’, The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band’s ‘Eighteen Is Over the Hill’, Eurythmics’ ‘Thorn in My Side’ and The Verlaines’ ‘Joed Out’. Side D collects four B-sides from the band’s archives.

The band have described the reissue as a way of gathering every track from that era under one roof, while also honouring the memory of bandmate Patrick, who died in the years since the album’s release. Proceeds will help raise funds for the Los Angeles Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) center, a charity close to his heart. “We miss him and think of him often,” the band have said.

New reissue track ‘Starry Eyes’, originally released as the B-side to debut single ‘Found Love in a Graveyard’, is out now.

Veronica Falls’ self-titled debut album is out November 27th.
