Rising indie rockers Overpass have announced their upcoming EP Dependent, set to drop this November. Their fresh single ‘Like No Other’ is out now, showcasing the band’s knack for big choruses and soaring guitar riffs.

‘Like No Other’ is an indie anthem perfect for festival season. The band explains, “It’s about that magical moment when you realise you’ve met someone truly unique, even if the love isn’t returned. It’s about that overwhelming rush of emotions and the bittersweet ache of unrequited love. Through this song, we wanted to convey the depth and intensity of falling for someone who feels like they were meant just for you, even when your feelings aren’t reciprocated.”

Dependent promises to be a journey of self-discovery and growth, reflecting the highs and lows of young adulthood. “Dependent is about finding where we fit in the world, with songs that explore deep, introspective moments and the challenges of understanding ourselves. This new approach allowed us to refine our sound and reflect where we are as a band in 2024,” the band shares.

The Midlands quartet, comprising Max Newy (vocals), India Armstrong (bass), Elliot Rawlings (guitar), and Jake Bishop (drums), have had a stellar start to 2024. Their debut EP From the Night, released in February, received praise from NME, Wonderland, and Dork, among others, and saw support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Radio X’s John Kennedy.

Earlier this year, Overpass embarked on a sold-out headline tour, including a 1500-capacity hometown show at the O2 Institute in Birmingham. Last year, they supported tours with Inhaler, Two Door Cinema Club, The Royston Club, and Vistas, and made their Great Escape debut in Brighton.

Elliot reflects on their journey: “We didn’t expect to sell out shows so quickly, but Birmingham’s been amazing to us. The support from the local scene and our fans here’s just incredible. It’s a place that really nurtures creativity.”

Overpass is set to play several live shows this year, including appearances at Truck Festival and Y-Not Festival. Catch them live and experience their anthemic indie rock for yourself.
