According to local reports, the rapper was shot at House of Blues in Houston, Texas. The incident is alleged to have originated over a game of dice. Takeoff is believed to be the lone fatality, though two other people were shot. Alongside his uncle Quavo – who was present at the scene but believed not to have been injured – and cousin Offset, Takeoff was part of Migos, which was founded in 2008. Hailing from Lawrenceville, Georgia, the trio went on to achieve astronomical success with tracks such as ‘Bad and Boujee’, ‘Walk It Talk It’ and ‘Stir Fry’. Migos’ last three albums have been part of the ‘Culture’ trilogy, culminating in Culture III in June 2021.
