Westside Cowboy release new EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There

The five-track release arrives ahead of the band’s next UK tour dates.

Westside Cowboy have released their new EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There, continuing to refine the loose, transatlantic sound that first marked them out as a band to watch.

The group’s blend of indie rock and Americana influences was established on debut EP This Better Be Something Great, and the new five-track release pushes that approach further without attempting to smooth its edges. Containing previous singles ‘The Wahs’ and ‘Can’t See’, the EP is presented as a snapshot rather than a destination, capturing a band still finding its footing.

So Much Country ’Till We Get There holds together as a single body of work, expanding on what the band have described as their ‘Britainicana’ sound. There’s a sense of movement throughout, both musically and thematically, with the material leaning into uncertainty rather than resisting it.

Speaking about the EP, the band said: “We like the idea that music has the ability to capture the moment in time in which it was made, for good and for bad. For us, we think this EP sounds like us figuring it out, and we find that really appealing at the moment. We can’t sit here and say that we know what we’re doing yet because we really don’t, but that’s how it should be at this stage, because everything feels so new much of the time. This year has been one of great change for the band, and we feel like So Much Country ’Till We Get There reflects this. We’re not there yet, but we’re cycling down the Oxford Road towards it, whatever ‘it’ is in this case.”

The EP lands ahead of a busy period on the road. Westside Cowboy will tour the UK later this month, including a sold-out headline show at London’s Scala on 28th January, before supporting Geese on their UK tour in March.
