Blondshell, Sabrina Teitelbaum, has released her new album, Violins.

Produced by Yves Rothman, mixed by Beatriz Artola and mastered by Emily Lazar, the record is built on virtuoso hooks, swelling guitars and big lead lines, drawing on Leonard Cohen and Pavement alongside newer influences including Gang of Four, Teenage Fanclub, The Go-Betweens and Sade. Across 11 songs, Teitelbaum moves away from using bad romantic relationships as her main lens, instead confronting troubled friendships, religion, the body and the long, unglamorous work of healing.

Focus track ‘Stone Fruit’ centres on the inseparability of body and mind, a theme Teitelbaum has said she returns to constantly in how she thinks about her own life. She’s described this third album as a step toward greater confidence in her songwriting, saying each record brings her closer to “making the thing that I really want to make.”

Elsewhere on the album, ‘Lucky’ sits in a sunny, insomniac haze, naming small pleasures against a backdrop of grief and a world in turmoil. ‘Heart Has to Work So Hard’ addresses an enduring but difficult friendship, while ‘New Shape’ takes a more delicate, acoustic approach to a strained relationship. ‘Two Fried’ finds Teitelbaum writing about the body through a food metaphor, and ‘New Age Trojan Horse’ addresses periods with characteristic bluntness. ‘Sea Legs’ explores a personal, non-religious relationship with something larger than herself, found in everyday people and things rather than organised faith. The title track and opener maps how real healing takes patience and time, while closer ‘Fur Elise’ gestures back to a simple piano piece Teitelbaum learned as a child, using it as a lens on growing up and defining life on her own terms.

The album follows Teitelbaum’s 2023 self-titled debut and 2025’s If You Asked for a Picture, which appeared on numerous best-of-2025 lists from Vogue, Billboard, Rolling Stone, NME, Alternative Press and FLOOD, with track ‘T&A’, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, landing at number 20 on Rolling Stone’s Best 100 Songs of 2025.

Teitelbaum’s UK and EU tour in support of Violins begins this December, culminating in her biggest London headline show to date at The Roundhouse on December 15th, before North American dates follow in February and March 2027, including shows at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and Brooklyn Steel in New York.
