The new track sees the four-piece continue to make headway following their Welsh Music Prize nomination for their debut album Backhand Deals in 2022.
Since then, the band have been writing and recording at frontman and producer Tom Rees’s Rat Trap studio, where Rees has previously recorded and produced tracks for emerging talent, including Panic Shack and Do Nothing.
‘Therapy’ follows the release of the band’s single ‘Chew’, released earlier this year, and bears a similar frenetic restlessness – have a listen to the new track via the video below.
With the new single address Rees’ views on therapy, the frontman has had more than a few words to say about the track, sharing: “Not surprisingly I wrote Therapy after I had my head squeezed like a giant cyst and years and years of backlogged pus just started oozing out (“my father” this and “my mother” that).
“I was so impressed by how great I felt that I became a massive nuisance to everyone around me telling them they need to go to therapy – big “a person you kind of know telling you that you NEED to watch Breaking Bad” vibes – so this song was really an extension of that.

“More than anything it was a fun opportunity to be creative with imagery around feeling frustrated, and the freedom that came from getting the help to understand why.”
The band – Rees, guitarist Zac White, drummer Ethan Hurst and Rees’ brother and bassist Eddie – have also announced they’ll be heading out on a number of dates across the UK, where they’ll likely continue to enthrall audiences with their frenetic sets.
They’ve so far already supported the likes of Miles Kane, and were set to open up for Noel Gallagher at the Royal Albert Hall but for coronavirus spoiling those plans.
No doubt they’ll be making up for that and then some with a practically non-stop run of shows in March, as well as nearer dates for Brighton’s Mutations Festival and a slot at London’s Omeara.
