Liverpool’s Courting are back in action with a brand-new single, ‘After You,’ offering another sneak peek into their highly anticipated third album, Lust for Life, Or: ‘How To Thread The Needle And Come Out The Other Side To Tell The Story’. Slated for release on 14th March, the album promises eight tightly woven tracks brimming with creativity.
‘After You,’ the second single from the album, builds on the themes of tension and duality introduced in its predecessor, ‘Pause At You.’ While the latter grooves with dance-punk energy, ‘After You’ takes a darker turn, layering hypnotic rhythms with a sense of unsettling intensity. According to frontman Sean Murphy-O’Neill, it’s a track that walks the line between romance and obsession. “‘After You’ was the first song we wrote for Lust for Life,” he explains. “It’s about duality, lyrically open to interpretation as either stalkerish or romantic. The hypnotic wall of guitars and drums was a deliberate attempt to keep things direct and straightforward.”
The accompanying music video, directed by long-time collaborator Charlie Barclay-Harris, reflects the album’s themes with stark black-and-white visuals that amplify its moody vibes.
With three albums and an EP under their belt in just three years, Courting are no strangers to reinvention. Their sound, an ever-shifting mix of indie, hyperpop, and experimental rock, has cemented their reputation as one of the UK’s most fearless bands. Murphy-O’Neill sums it up: “This album is what it is: immediate, no excess. Everything we’ve done so far has culminated in this.”
Fans won’t have to wait long to see the band live, as Courting are set to hit the road for a UK tour kicking off 15th March in Leeds and wrapping up 9th April in London. Tickets are on sale now, and with this new music offering, demand is sure to be high.

Get ready for an album full of surprises, as Courting once again push boundaries and deliver a sound that hits you square in the face and lingers long after.
