DJ Seinfeld has announced a new album titled If This Is It, set for release on 5th June via Ninja Tune.
The 12-track record centres on a theme that has long shaped the producer’s life and work, a persistent sense of restlessness. That feeling, he explains, has followed him since childhood, and has only intensified in a career defined by constant movement.
As a touring DJ, the tension between wanting to be elsewhere and struggling to settle in the present has become a defining experience. If This Is It draws directly from that mindset, turning it into the album’s emotional core.
“If This Is It is about reflecting on the past without dwelling in it, and finding harmony in restlessness,” he says. “Through writing it, I’ve tried to turn long-held anxieties into acceptance.”
He describes the sensation in more detail, framing it as a cycle that is difficult to break.
“I find myself always looking to go somewhere else, but whatever I’m looking for is never really there, and where I am is no good unless I’m able to leave. This realisation isn’t something new, but I’ve had issues accepting it. It’s a sense of anxiety in the present.”
Musically, the album blends club-focused production with more introspective, melodic elements. Across its runtime, it moves between driving rhythms and softer, more reflective passages, maintaining a balance between energy and restraint.
New single ‘U Can’t Come Home’ offers a first insight into that approach. Built around warm synth textures and gently shifting pads, the track features a soft, understated vocal from TS Graye, adding a human counterpoint to the production.
The album also includes a number of collaborators, among them SG Lewis, Dan Whitlam, ARY, just lil, and Moyka, each contributing to the record’s varied palette.
With If This Is It, DJ Seinfeld continues to expand his sound beyond the confines of the dancefloor, using club music as a framework for more personal reflection.
