Dave, Stormzy and Little Simz among big winners at GRM Daily Rated Awards

Dave picked up four awards at this year’s GRM Daily Rated Awards, including Male Artist Of The Year and the prestigious Album Of The Year award for We’re All Alone In This Together.

Now in its seventh year, the GRM Daily Rated Awards celebrates the best in British rap and grime, and this year saw big wins for Dave, Little Simz, KSI and a win for A1 x J1, who won the Breakthrough Artist Of The Year Award. Picking up his award for Track Of The Year, which he won with the Stormzy-featuring ‘Clash’, Dave explained the four-year process behind the hit, which was inspired by his friend who had bought Jordan 1s and Jordan 4s and eventually reached No.2 on the Official UK Charts. A special legacy award was also posthumously given to SB.TV founder and entrepreneur Jamal Edwards, who died earlier this year. Edwards’ mother accepted the award, Brenda and sister Tanisha and presented by the founder & CEO of GRM Daily, Post and founder of Link Up TV, Rashid Kasirye. A special video created by members of the SB.TV team was also played to celebrate his life and legacy. Other awards went to KSI, for Personality Of The Year, Central Cee’s 23 mixtape and Mad About Bars host Kenny Allstar won Radio DJ Of The Year. The event was held on Saturday, 22 October, and will be broadcast exclusively on E4 on Tuesday, 25 October. Big Zuu and Julie Adenuga hosted the show, with additional appearances from Munya Chawawa, Tiffany Calver, Adeola Patronne, Mariam Musa, Nella Rose, Snoochie Shy and Zeze Millz.
