Parisian duo Kids Return have unveiled the official video for their latest single, ‘Teenage Dreams’. Directed by Alice Gariepy and filmed by Tara-Jay Bangalter, the son of Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, adds an extra layer of significance to the project.

Released on 28th February, ‘Teenage Dreams’ marks the duo’s latest step in their evolving sound. The track combines elements of ’90s Britpop and French Touch, layering baggy rhythms, powerful gospel choirs, and gritty guitar riffs. It’s a bold sound that continues to define Kids Return’s identity as they explore new musical territory.

Speaking about the song, the duo explained: “This is the song that took us the longest to complete. It went through multiple versions and different shapes before becoming what it is today. We built it, rebuilt it, always taking a step back and letting the music guide us where it wanted to go. The track is divided into two parts, just like the lyrics – first the bitterness of a betrayed friendship, then the moment of finding peace with it.”

‘Teenage Dreams’ is the lead single from their upcoming album, 1997, set for release on 4th April. The album draws from the band’s formative influences, while adding their personal touch to the genres of Britpop and French Touch. The release follows their 2022 debut Forever Melodies, which saw them play sold-out shows in Paris and perform in prestigious venues across the U.S. and Japan.

In 2025, Kids Return will embark on a European tour, including a headline performance at L’Olympia in Paris on 14th May and stops in the UK at Band On The Wall in Manchester and Hangar34 in Liverpool. The duo has been gaining recognition in the music press, with interviews featured in publications such as Clash Magazine, The Independent, Flaunt Magazine, and GQ France.

With their energetic performances and evolving sound, Kids Return are positioning themselves as an exciting act to watch in 2025.
