King Krule shares new live film ‘You’ll Never Guess What Happened Next’ featuring unreleased track

King Krule has shared a new live performance film which includes stripped-back renditions of tracks from his latest, critically-acclaimed Space Heavy album.

King Krule

The approximate half-hour film has been shot and directed by filmmaker Anna Pollack and is titled You’ll Never Guess What Happened Next.

It mostly features King Krule’s performance at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from him and his band’s time in New York, all taken from his European and American SHHHH Tour.

As well as tracks from his latest record, such as the languorous ‘Tortoise of Independence’ and the more-so-but-not-quite happy ‘Seaforth’, there are a couple of Man Alive! tracks added for good measure: ‘(Don’t Let the Dragon) Draag On’ and ‘Perfecto Miserable’.

There’s also an unreleased new track ‘Whaleshark’ – yes, a whole unreleased track. Have a listen and a watch via the full film above.

King Krule – the artistic moniker of Archy Marshall – is currently amid a US, UK and European Space Heavy tour which has forthcoming headline shows at Hollywood Palladium in L.A., London’s Eventim Apollo, and Trianon in Paris. Full dates can be found on the artist’s site.

Writing in our four-star review of the artist’s latest album, whynow wrote: “Space Heavy ebbs and flows, its creator dipping above and below the surface of whatever weighted liquid he’s wading through.

“The album sees him reach moments of perhaps unprecedented sanguinity – you might even describe ‘Seaforth’ as something approaching the word ‘happy’ – while also traversing King Krule’s more customary land of barren grey.”
