The Cindys announce debut album ‘Love Century’

The Cindys were formed by Jack Ogborne, previously of Bingo Fury, moving toward 80s college rock influences.

The Cindys will release their debut album, Love Century, on November 19th.

The band was sparked into being by Jack Ogborne, previously of Bingo Fury, who swapped that group’s noisier sound for something more song-driven, drawing on 80s college rock touchstones like early R.E.M., The Replacements and pre-addiction Lemonheads. Naima Bock features in the band’s lineup in a collaborative role.

Love Century is led by new single ‘Town of Origin’, a dose of slacker-tinged power pop that nods to Evan Dando’s songwriting and Peter Buck’s folk-adjacent guitar work. Ogborne has said the song was written quickly, “in half an hour, music and lyrics,” a rare case compared to the months songs usually take him, crediting a heavy diet of The Wedding Present at the time for shaping both its music and lyrics.

Love Century is out November 19th.
