London’s festival scene is getting an upgrade this summer with LIDO Festival, and they’ve just landed a headliner that fits the bill. Massive Attack will top the bill on Friday 6th June 2025, marking their first London festival show in nine years, and they’re doing it in 100% battery-powered style.

The Bristol legends are bringing their acclaimed live show, designed with United Visual Artists and Adam Curtis, while continuing their ACT 1.5 project to slash carbon emissions in live music. The whole thing runs on clean energy from Ecotricity, cutting down on pollution while setting a new standard for sustainable gigs.

Joining them in Victoria Park are:

  • Air – The duo behind Moon Safari bring their signature dreamy electronics.
  • Yasiin Bey & The Alchemist are FORENSICS – The hip-hop icons take their new project to the stage.
  • Tirzah – South East London’s understated R&B innovator.

More acts will be announced soon, but one thing’s clear: LIDO is not your typical corporate festival. Headliners curate their own day, their acts, their artwork, their vision, giving the whole event a personal feel.

“To present London’s first ever 100% battery-powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us,” says Robert Del Naja (3D). “Clean productions beginning this journey to normalisation is good news for everyone, but especially for music fans that come to festivals and the local communities that live around them.”

LIDO Festival is ditching cups entirely, banning single-use plastics, and tracking audience travel emissions to cut their carbon footprint. It’s a bold move, and if it works, it could change how festivals operate in the future.

Tickets go on sale Friday 21st February.
