Creator Matthew Graham took to social media to tease the new sequel to the cult favourite series, Life on Mars, starring John Simm.
Fans of Life On Mars are being treated as creators of the short-lived, but much adored, series confirmed a sequel is indeed on the way. Graham had previously said back in 2020 that a third series was definitely on the cards, but there hasn’t been any updates since.
Graham tweeted from his production company’s account that he and collaborator Ashley Pharaoah have finished a script for the next series, titled Lazarus. Graham also teased some keywords that’ll surely get fans buzzing. You can check the tweet out below.
So @AJPharoah and I have completed the pilot script for #Lazarus.
It contains the words –
Hanging
Boogie
Creme Fraiche— Watford&Essex 🇺🇦 (@EssexWatford) April 28, 2022
The series, which ran for two seasons in 2006 and 2007, followed a man who ended up in 70s Manchester after a car accident in 2006. The series also received a spin-off called Ashes to Ashes, which ran a tad longer, for three seasons.
The title Lazarus follows the theme of the previous TV shows by borrowing its title from a David Bowie song. While other details are scarce and no official date set for filming, fans will likely have to wait a while longer.
