Winter means more time indoors, which means more time in front of the telly, which, for many, means more time playing video games. Here are the best gaming releases this month.

It might not be the full-blown festive season yet, but ’tis always the season to treat yourself. Find our full run-down of the best video games out in November below.

Football Manager 2023 [PC, PS5, XSX, XBOX, Switch] – November 8

Football Manager 2023

The ultimate football management game returns with its 2023 edition at the beginning of next month.

While the new instalment promises to revamp player recruitment and improve other aspects, one feels the most significant difference could be the inclusion of fully-licensed UEFA competitions. Both the Champions League and the Europa League will feature in FM23.

It’s out across all major consoles on November 8.

Sonic Frontiers [PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBOX, Switch] – November 8

Sonic Frontiers

On the same day as FM23 arrives, so does Sonic Frontiers.

“In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures.” After that, I imagine high-speed action awaits.

Just earlier today, Saga’s head of Sonic the Hedgehog, Takashi Iizuka, confirmed that Sonic Frontiers “isn’t similar at all” to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

God of War Ragnarok [PS5, PS4] – November 9

God of War Ragnarok

The sequel to the 2018 reboot, God of War Ragnarok, is coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9.

Despite the success of the 2018 game, this promises to be “bigger and better than its predecessor, with an even deeper story, more bosses, better puzzles, new weapons and more.”

Sony is releasing a limited edition God of War Ragnarok DualSense controller as part of the game’s release.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Bloody Ties DLC [PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO] – November 10

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Bloody Ties

In Bloody Ties, players will embark on a new story adventure; you will reach the epicentre of death, wealth and absolute splendour in a stunning location; The Carnage Hall.

This old opera building is full of challenges and quests, surprising new weapon types, character interactions, and discoveries to uncover.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers [PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO] – November 10

Police Simulator Patrol Officers

You need at least one simulator in your monthly gaming list, and this month it’s policing that we’ll be able to replicate.

I must admit, detective work sounds a bit better than patrolling, but Police Simulator: Patrol Officers promises the “most authentic experience” in simulation mode, as well as a casual mode that I imagine is a little bit more relaxed.

Warzone 2.0 [PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBOX] – November 16

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0

Fresh off the heels of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty’s free, battle royale game Warzone is getting its second version.

A new feature called ‘Circle Collapse’ will see multiple circles appear across the battle royale map, each shrinking independently before rejoining to create a final endgame zone. There’s a new DMZ extraction mode, more AI-controlled guards, and I’m sure plenty more other stuff as well.

Goat Simulator 3 [PC, PS5, XSX] – November 17

Goat Simulator 3

I suppose it’s the polar opposite end of the simulator world to being a policeman, but on November 17, you can again become a goat.

In Goat Simulator 3, there’s a new four-goat mode where you can goat around the fictional island of San Angora with other goats.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet [Switch] – November 18

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

“Get ready to ride on the back of a Legendary Pokémon and explore the Paldea region” in these new role-playing games coming to Nintendo Switch on November 18.

Scarlet and Violet are the first mainline Pokémon games to feature a fully open world.

Just Dance 2023 [PS5, XSX, XBOX, Switch] – November 22

Just Dance 2023

I have no idea how many people play Just Dance in their living rooms – it just seems like a lot of effort – but if you fancy a festive boogie,

Just Dance 2023 is coming out across consoles on November 22.

Gotham Knights: Heroic Assault [PC, PS5, XSX] – November 29

Gotham Knights: Heroic Assault

Squeezing in before the end of the month, Gotham Knights: Heroic Assault is a new game set following the ‘untimely death’ of Batman.

In his place appear the Batman family, ready to take on Gotham’s seemingly never-ending supply of crime. There are four playable characters in this modern version family.
