Eight years after bidding an emotional farewell, The Maccabees are reuniting to headline the All Points East Festival at Victoria Park, London, on 24th August 2025. This marks their first live show since 2017 and celebrates a decade since their #1 album Marks to Prove It.
Known for their emotive storytelling and distinct sound, the band left a lasting impact on British indie rock with four acclaimed albums, ending with three sold-out farewell shows at Alexandra Palace.
Their reunion traces back to a wedding in 2020, when guitarist Hugo White invited band members to play a one-off set. That night rekindled memories and camaraderie that had long been dormant, and as frontman Orlando Weeks recalls, it felt special simply to reconnect. The enforced separation of lockdown intensified their desire to revisit the music they’d built together, leading to the decision to perform one more time.
Now, as All Points East headliners, The Maccabees are curating a lineup with artists they admire, creating a unique experience for fans of all generations. For bassist Rupert Jarvis, the night is about joy rather than expectations, with no promises beyond this one performance. It’s a celebration of the music, friendship, and the community that’s grown around them – a chance to relive the magic of a band that defined a generation of indie rock. Don’t miss the moment.
