Yazmin Lacey releases Lover’s Rock-inspired single ‘Wallpaper’ ahead of October album

Yazmin Lacey releases new single ‘Wallpaper’, a Lover’s Rock-inspired cut from her upcoming album Teal Dreams

Yazmin Lacey has shared her new single ‘Wallpaper’, the latest preview of her upcoming album Teal Dreams, which arrives on 24th October via AMF Records.

Known for her evocative lyrics and rich, soulful voice, Lacey’s new track draws on her Caribbean heritage. ‘Wallpaper’ reimagines the sound of Lover’s Rock – a genre popularised in Britain in the 70s and 80s by artists such as Janet Kay – and filters it through a modern lens. The result is both a nod to tradition and a refreshing update, placing her influences in dialogue with contemporary production.

Speaking about the inspiration, Lacey explained how Lover’s Rock was a constant presence at family parties when she was growing up. ‘Wallpaper’ honours those sounds while carving out something unmistakably her own.

The track arrives with a video, co-directed by Lacey and Daisy Belknap, which reflects the song’s warm textures and themes.

Teal Dreams promises to be Lacey’s broadest work to date, bringing together collaborations with a range of producers to showcase different aspects of her artistry.

‘Wallpaper’ is out now. Teal Dreams follows on 24th October.
