Yumi Zouma have announced details of their new album No Love Lost To Kindness, set for release on 30th January 2026.

Written largely in Mexico City during breaks between tours, the album reflects both the band’s evolving interests and the personal changes each member has undergone in recent years. It sees Yumi Zouma expand their sound while drawing on 90s influences from their adolescence.

In a statement, the band described their approach: “We wanted the song to feel like slowly rotating in sludge and then screaming the most anthemic chorus at the top of your lungs. Hooks from a 1998 issue of Smash Hits are covered with samples and industrial synth arpeggios from the nonexistent soundtrack of the crossover prequel for RoboCop and The Fifth Element, featuring Silverchair, Shihad, Garbage, Stellar, Evanescence, and Placebo.”

The first single, ‘Drag’, is among Yumi Zouma’s most personal to date. Frontwoman Christie Simpson wrote it in the aftermath of her ADHD diagnosis, framing it as both a message to her younger self and a moment of acceptance.

“For months, I was overwhelmed with grief, joy, frustration, acceptance, relief, and struggle. Things didn’t always feel easier post-diagnosis—often harder, even now. This song is a signal to my inner child, and a manifestation of acceptance. It’s a goodbye to the life I lived so long ‘inside the drag.’ It’s about releasing myself from the struggle – about letting go,” she explained.

‘Drag’ is out now, while No Love Lost To Kindness follows on 30th January.
