Bingo Fury releases poised debut album ‘Bats Feet For A Widow’

Bristol-based musician Bingo Fury has released his accomplished experimental debut album, Bats Feet For A Widow.

Bingo Fury

The moniker of Bristol-based musician Jack Ogborne, Bingo Fury has delivered a first record replete with his typically intricate compositions and jazzy arrangements.

With an air of Scott Walker’s graceful balladry, Bats Feet For A Widow packs many poetic refrains into its neatly-packaged nine tracks and 28-minute runtime; “I keep waking up with all your tattoos” (‘Unlistening’), “I thought you were a place / Rather than a person” (‘My Cup Overflows’), among them.

The full album was recorded in a local church in Bristol, adding to the somewhat contradictory sense of grandeur and minimalism contained within the project.

Its release, via well-regarded label state51, follows Bingo’s 2022 EP ‘Mercury’s Cut’, and extends his soul-searching exploration into his complex religious upbringing in Bristol and his quest for a balanced approach to creativity.

Bats Feet For A Widow’s arrival comes ahead of, and largely springboards, an impressive forthcoming run of tour dates across the UK and Europe for Bingo Fury.

Throughout March, he’ll be sauntering through a number of dates in support of London-based band Folly Group before headline shows of his own in April.
