Forwards 2024 has revealed its final music lineup additions, confirming The Jesus and Mary Chain and Glass Beams as headliners. Taking place on Saturday, 31st August, and Sunday, 1st September, the festival will feature a mix of international and local artists.

The Jesus and Mary Chain, formed in 1983 by Scottish brothers Jim and William Reid, will perform their only Bristol show this year. Known for their unique blend of noisy guitar feedback and melodic pop, their performance on Sunday promises to be a highlight.

Glass Beams will also grace the stage, drawing from their Indian and South Asian roots to create an ethereal mix of psychedelia and surf rock. Their debut album, Mirage, has been praised for its fusion of 70s Indian classical music, disco, and DIY electronica.

Additionally, the festival will showcase artists from Big Team’s Next Level Artist Development Programme, designed to support emerging talent. Saturday’s lineup includes alternative soul artist Sambee, Bossa Nova musician Ava Zarate, and local duo Rellz & YB Micz. Sunday will feature pop-rock newcomer SSADCHARLIE, R&B singer Laura Dia, and soulful artist Marns.
