London-based duo Joy Anonymous are stirring up the dance music scene yet again, this time with the official release of their much-awaited track ‘JOY (Push The Button)’. This new banger, a rework of the Sugababes’ 00s hit ‘Push The Button’, arrives following their rousing Australia/NZ tour and the November release of their album Cult Classics.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating this track since it first electrified audiences in Joy Anonymous’s 2023 sets, including a memorable performance at Alexandra Palace alongside Fred Again. The song’s viral success led to a widespread online hunt for the edit, and now, the wait is over.

The duo has skillfully infused the original Sugababes’ classic with a fresh garage vibe, transforming it into a euphoric dancefloor highlight. Initially crafted as a bootleg, the track received the Sugababes’ enthusiastic blessing for official release after they heard and loved this new take.

Joy Anonymous shares their journey with the track, saying, “Sugababes’ ‘Push The Button’ is an iconic track so we had some fun in the studio making a bootleg version that we didn’t expect to put out. But the reception and support were amazing, and then hearing the girls themselves love it was pretty cool. So we all got together and thought, no better Christmas present than giving people what they’ve been asking for. Merry Christmas”.

The Sugababes themselves are thrilled with this collaboration, commenting, “We heard this bootleg of Push The Button being played all summer, and the reaction was insane, so we’re excited to now team up officially with Joy Anonymous to release the song as a special present to you guys to see out 2023. Merry Christmas”.

This release caps a phenomenal year for Joy Anonymous, marked by significant milestones like being named a Future Artist on BBC Radio 1, performing for Save Our Scene, and selling out their largest headline show to date at the iconic Roundhouse.

Joy Anonymous is not slowing down in 2024, with a jam-packed UK/EU tour on the horizon. The tour kicks off with a sold-out show at The Roundhouse in London on 14th February, followed by performances in Manchester, Glasgow, Norwich, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Copenhagen.

Stay tuned for more from Joy Anonymous as they continue to redefine the dance music landscape, one hit at a time.
