London indie newcomers Lip Filler have shared their latest single, ‘Limelite’.
Following on from the buzz accrued by their self-titled debut EP which arrived in May, the Chess Club Records signees are now teasing their follow-up. The five-piece are currently experiencing a momentous period both with their releases and on the road, having supported Picture Parlour and Alfie Templeman, and made festival appearances at the likes of The Great Escape and Dot To Dot. Their latest single is another slice of devilishly enticing indie-rock, with jagged guitar work and frontman George Tucker’s fervent, Jamie T-like energy – have a listen via the simple video below. ‘Limelite’ was produced by St Francis Hotel, whose prior credits include Little Simz and Greentea Peng. Discussing their new single, and how it fits into their overall ethos and lives at present, the band have said: “‘Limelite’ is very much an embodiment of mixed emotions; not being sure what the best thing is for yourself and projecting these uncertainties onto someone else. “Being caught between two minds, acting impulsively yet irrationally. “I feel like this song captures an adolescent naïveté which is self-ashamedly honest. This is the first song that we ever wrote as a band – I think that it’s very fitting of that (in a funny way).” Looking ahead, Lip Filler will play the Manchester-based Beyond The Music festival, Live At Leeds and Left Of The Dial festivals this month alone, as they continue to turn heads and endear fans.
