Irish singer-songwriter Orla Gartland is set to release her second solo album, Everybody Needs A Hero, on 4th October. This new collection follows her extraordinary debut, Woman On The Internet, which took the indie music scene by storm. Known for her lyrical depth and melodic ingenuity, Orla has continued to charm audiences with her unique sound and captivating performances.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind her new work, Orla shares, “It’s like a voodoo doll thing… you’re so connected it hurts… it’s a nice gesture, because you’re admitting you care about that person so much that when they’re in pain you feel it too, but there’s a point that it can go too far and that’s just not healthy or sustainable.” This intriguing metaphor is also mirrored in the album’s cover art, featuring a voodoo doll.
The album was crafted between her own studio in London and Middle Farm Studios in Devon. Leading the release is the single ‘The Hit,’ a track that promises to continue her tradition of blending emotional honesty with catchy tunes. Fans can tune in now to get a taste of what’s to come.
Orla Gartland first garnered widespread attention with Woman On The Internet, an album that seamlessly blended personal storytelling with pop sensibilities. Following this, she became part of the bedroom pop supergroup FIZZ, further solidifying her place in the indie music world.
As we eagerly await the release of Everybody Needs A Hero, mark your calendars for 4th October and get ready to explore the new depths of Orla Gartland’s musical journey. And if ‘The Hit’ is any indication, we’re in for another enchanting ride through her creative genius.
Stay tuned and follow her journey as she continues to weave her musical magic.
