Ray Liotta dies in his sleep aged 67

Ray Liotta, the iconic actor best known for his role as Henry Hill in Goodfellas, has passed away in his sleep at the age of 67.

Ray Liotta, the iconic actor best known for his role as Henry Hill in Goodfellas, has passed away in his sleep at the age of 67.


Liotta was in the Dominican Republic at the time of his death, shooting the film Dangerous Waters. He leaves behind a daughter, Karsen, and his fiancé Jacy Nittolo. 

As well as the starring role in Martin Scorcese’s 1990 classic Goodfellas, Liotta was known for playing Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams the year prior. Other starring roles from his career spanning four decades include Something Wild, Hannibal, Narc and Copland. 

In recent years, Liotta was enjoying a career resurgence. He featured in The Sopranos spin-off The Many Saints of Newark, Netflix’s Marriage Story, and No Sudden Move.

Raymond Allen Liotta was born in Newark, New Jersey, on December 18, 1954. He was adopted at the age of six months, having been abandoned at an orphanage as a baby.
