Scream VI | New trailer highlights a very different Ghostface

Sequel to 2022’s Scream, which was technically Scream V, Scream VI will bring back a roster of familiar faces and characters. 

Tara (Wednesday-star Jenna Ortega) and Sam (Melissa Barrera) are back, as is Courtney Cox’s franchise legend Gale Weathers who is ready to defeat Ghostface once again. 

Also returning is Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby, who was presumed dead in Scream 4.

The trailer, and Ghostface himself, emphasise that this is a whole different Ghostface from the ones the residents of Woodsboro have met before. 

In Scream VI, Ghostface trades his signature knife for a huge gun. A gun enthusiast would be able to tell you what kind of a gun it is, but all I can tell you is that it looks like it packs some serious firepower. 

The action is also moving from Woodsboro to New York City, with multiple Ghostfaces now lurking in the subway. It seems that nowhere is safe for our gang of survivors.

Scream V brought the franchise back from the dead by giving its narrative a fun meta twist, but can directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett repeat that magic trick successfully? 

We’ll find out on 10 March, when Scream VI arrives in cinemas.
