Dublin rockers SPRINTS have unleashed their new single ‘Feast’, their first release since the departure of founding guitarist Colm O’Reilly. Now featuring Zac Stephenson, the band is pushing forward, and it’s clear they’ve got plenty of momentum on their side.
Following the success of their debut album Letter To Self (which landed them rave reviews from NME, DIY, and Clash), the band’s latest track explores themes of gluttony, desire, and consumption through a gothic lens. ‘Feast’ delves into their love of grunge and gothic rock, mixing brooding lyrics with big, bold sounds.
Singer Karla Chubb taps into her Catholic upbringing, weaving religious iconography into a queer narrative. As she puts it: “Feast is dark, gothic and sensual, encouraging us to unapologetically pursue our wants and desires.”
Drummer Jack Callan adds that recording ‘Feast’ at Dublin’s Sonic Studios – where the band’s 2021 Manifesto EP was made – was a “true full-circle moment.” Produced by Dan Fox of Gilla Band, ‘Feast’ is already being hailed as a defining track for SPRINTS, with its pummelling riffs and Chubb’s commanding vocals creating a visceral, electrifying listen.
If you haven’t seen them live yet, now’s your chance. After a successful debut US tour earlier this year, SPRINTS are currently back Stateside, with plans to bring their frenetic energy to the UK and Europe this November.
