The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons review

In a rather audacious move, The Hives are scouting for new talent – not to join them, but to become them.

That’s right, it’s your chance to be part of the official Hives cover band brigade!

Fresh from setting stages ablaze with their comeback album The Death of Randy Fitzimmons (which is great, by the way, read our review by clicking the link below) and a series of big gigs – including a viral Glastonbury set and a North American tour that saw ‘sold out’ signs at every turn – the Swedish garage-punks are now setting their sights even wider.

Next, they’re heading to Central and South America, gearing up to be the first Western band to rock out in Venezuela in over a decade. But there’s a twist in the tour tale – they can’t be everywhere at once (as much as they and their fans might want them to be). So, what’s a band to do? The Hives have hatched a plan: call for cover bands.

The Hives are inviting you – yes, YOU – to form your very own version of the band. Think of it as a rock ‘n’ roll franchise experience with “many rewards” for those who jump on board. As they put it:

“THE HIVES FRANCHISE NEEDS YOU: We have arrived at a point where The Hives can no longer keep up with public demand for concerts. This is where you come in. Help us create a world where The Hives are playing in every city, all the time. Let’s make business together and rock’n’roll. Sign up now and register your interest. Many rewards wait in store. We have spoken”

Did you hear that? The Hives have spoken. So, if you’ve ever fancied yourself the next Noel Gallagher or Bruce Springsteen, it’s time to rethink those dreams and start thinking about how you can help The Hives instead.

Dust off that guitar, grab a few mates, and start practicing. You can sign up here.
