The Molotovs announce second album ‘Welcome to Urbia’

The Molotovs will release their second album, Welcome to Urbia, on April 9th.

The record follows the band’s debut, which went Top Three on release, and a packed autumn headline tour that includes two nights at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. Sibling duo Matt (18) and Issey (20) Cartlidge lead the band, and lead single ‘Urbia’ is out now.

Recorded at North London’s Konk Studios, owned by The Kinks’ Ray Davies, with producer Tony Hoffer, ‘Urbia’ is an anthemic rallying cry. Matt has said the song felt different from the moment he wrote it, pointing the album in a new direction as his influences have broadened through the band’s live shows. Issey has described the track’s shift from a moody, industrial verse into a chorus that opens up and softens.

Welcome to Urbia is out April 9th.
