Australian artists Allday and Cub Sport have released their new single ‘Miss You Still’, featuring a sample from Ben Lee’s ‘Cigarettes Will Kill You’.
Now based in London, Allday has become known for his collaborative efforts, working with artists like Troye Sivan, Sofi Tukker, Mallrat, and The Veronicas. This latest track showcases his distinctive style alongside the unique energy of Cub Sport.
‘Miss You Still’ incorporates the plaintive piano chords of Ben Lee’s original song, creating a nostalgic warmth. Allday’s thoughtful lyrics blend seamlessly with Cub Sport’s contribution, resulting in a track that highlights their combined strengths.
Allday shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “I’d always loved that song [‘Cigarettes…’]; I’ve always loved the piano. I think people will just like the piano, even if they haven’t heard the original song. [Ben Lee] was cool with it. I’ve known everyone from Cub Sport since 2012 or 2013, so that is a cool friendship.”
Allday’s new album, The Necklace, is set for release on 2nd August.
