There’s something very comforting about a brand-new Aardman animation heading to the big screen, and the sequel to 2000’s Chicken Run could not be arriving at a better time. After all, animation is clearly having a bit of a moment, with Spider-Verse, the new TMNT film and of course, Pixar’s Elemental impressing critics and audiences alike in 2023.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will receive a flashy world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October, but if you, like us, are a bit impatient, you can get a taste of the film right now.

Sold! We are incredibly excited for this one and we can’t even hide it. While Disney and Pixar may have made fantastic jumps in terms of quality in their animation, there is a lovely texture to Aardman’s signature stop-motion style.
Thandiwe Newton voices Ginger, the mighty chicken who escaped Mrs. Tweedy’s farm in the first film to avoid being baked into a pie. Ginger comes face to face with her old nemesis again as a new threat arises for chickens everywhere: the nugget.
Miranda Richardson returns to voice Mrs. Tweedy and the voice cast is rounded out by Shazam! star Zachary Levi, The Last of Us’ Bella Ramsey, Romesh Ranganathan, Imelda Staunton and Peter Serafinowicz.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will premiere at the BFI London Festival on 14 October. The film arrive on Netflix 15 December.
