Sheeran has previously said the next album in his series of mathematical-based titles will be — (pronounced ‘subtract’, rather than ‘minus’).In other slightly rarer news, Sheeran has set another record. He’s now become the first ever artist to have four albums spend a year in the Top 10, with albums – ‘+‘ (Plus), ‘x‘ (Multiply), ‘÷‘ (Divide) and ‘=‘ (Equals) having now all charted for 52 weeks or more inside the Top 10 of the UK’s Official Albums Chart.

The feat is made more remarkable by the fact that only Simon & Garfunkel have managed to have more than one album achieve this, and that was just with two of their albums. The success of Sheeran’s 2021 album ‘=’ with its hugely successful singles including ‘Bad Habits’ and ‘Shivers’ also now makes him one of the artists with the most UK Number 1 singles in Official Charts history. He’s now level with Madonna, whilst only Cliff Richard & Westlife (14), The Beatles (17) and Elvis (21) have more.
