Flat Party have just dropped their intense new single ‘Madonna’, the latest taste of their upcoming EP It’s All Been Done Before, out on 15th November via Submarine Cat Records.
The London-based sextet are known for blending humour, flamboyance, and gritty emotions into shapeshifting indie rock, and ‘Madonna’ is no exception. It’s a dark, unsettling track addressing toxic masculinity, with frontman Jack Lawther’s eerie lyrics paired with driving guitars and shimmering synths.
Lawther doesn’t hold back, with lines like: “I’ll make you feel like you’ve never been touched before / I’ll make you feel like Madonna, baby,” creeping towards an unnerving finale. The song’s repetitive structure draws from krautrock and industrial influences, adding to its intense vibe.
Co-produced by Chris McCrory (Walt Disco, The Joy Hotel), It’s All Been Done Before promises to be a bold step for Flat Party. This isn’t their debut—2024 saw the release of their self-titled EP—but it’s a sonic shift. The band have doubled down on distortion, vocal harmonies, and sprawling orchestration, taking cues from 70s glam rock, jagged art-rock, and noughties alt-rock.
Flat Party have built a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in the country, supporting the likes of English Teacher, Courting, and FEET, and tearing up stages with their high-energy performances. Now, with their November headline tour kicking off, they’re set to bring It’s All Been Done Before to venues across the UK. Don’t miss them when they hit a city near you, culminating in a huge show at The Lexington in London on 27th November.
Brace yourselves – Flat Party are just getting started.
