Music maverick Jack White has officially announced the release of his much-anticipated new album, No Name. This album, already garnering acclaim, will hit all digital service providers and streaming platforms on Friday, 2nd August. Fans who frequent Third Man Records locations were in for a delightful surprise when they received unmarked vinyl copies slipped into their shopping bags as part of a clandestine release.
On Thursday, 1st August, a blue indie vinyl edition of No Name will be available exclusively at Third Man Records retail stores. The following day, this special edition will be sold in select independent record stores globally. For those who prefer the classic black vinyl, it will be available for pre-order on thirdmanrecords.com and jackwhiteiii.com starting Friday, 2nd August.
Staying true to his DIY ethos, White recorded, produced, and mixed the entire album at his Third Man Studio over the past year. The vinyl was pressed at Third Man Pressing, ensuring every aspect of the album’s creation was handled in-house.
Reflecting on the surprise release, White noted, “The rumblings of something mysterious can grow into the beautiful experience of a community sharing the excitement and energy of music and art.” Indeed, fans who received the unmarked vinyl on 19th July experienced this first-hand, turning the rumour mill into a communal celebration.
